I watched School of Rock with Misaki at the library on Wednesday after our writing class. We had to watch School of Rock or Forest Gump for this movie review. We wavered whether we choose which one, but I watched Forest Gump 3 times. I like the movie, but I wanted to watch School of Rock because I had never watched it. I suggested watching School of Rock. Really, I was interested in the movie, so I wanted to watch it.
The main character is Dewey Finn, who is played by Jack Black. He belonged a rock band. One day, his band played music at a bar. He was excited, so he took off his shirt, and dived toward audiences. However his trying didn’t succeed, so he was not caught by the people, and he fell on the floor. The people and other band members were disgusted with him. He was kept away by many people.
He lived with Ned and Patty at their house. That is to say, he was a drone. He didn’t have a job, so he did nothing but play guitar! When he slept after in the morning, Patty and Ned argued about Dewey. Ned is kind and fainthearted, but she recommended pressing for payment to Dewey. Finally, he pressed, but Dewey didn’t hear honestly. Patty was very angry, so she and Dewey argued hard.
He went to a studio to play rock music with his band members, but there was a stranger. He was singing. Dewey asked who he was to Theo. He answered the man was new vocal of the band. In other words, Dewey was fired. He didn’t believe about it, but he was angry. He flung to them, and he went away. He called to somewhere to find a job after he came back home, but he was refused. Then the phone rang. It was an offer from a famous private school to Ned. A woman teacher broke her leg, so the principal was looking her substitute. Dewey was looking for a job, besides this job was good payment! He thought he passed himself off as Ned.
Finally, he was recruited, and went to the school. The principal Rosalie, who is played by Joan Cusack, was strict. He was introduced by her, and she prompt to write his name on the black board to Dewey. He begun to write, but he was not Ned Schneebly really, so he didn’t remember its spelling. He was rocked, but he said please call him MR. S. After Rosalie went away, he didn’t teach anything like math, history. He gave free time to the students.
One day, Rosalie told the student had to go music class, so the students went to different room. Dewey looked in the room, they was playing each instruments like piano, guitar, clarinet, cello and so on. He was surprised and happy, so he carried his instruments into their class room. The students were surprised at the instrument when they saw them. Dewey got Zack to play a guitar, Lawrence to play a keyboard, Freddy to play drums, Katie to play a bass guitar. He was excited because they played each instrument very well. Then he conceived he teamed a rock band with the students!! He told a lie to them its band activity was a school project, and he gave grades to them. Everyone didn’t believe him and persuade. Especially, Summer, who is played by Miranda Cosgrove, didn’t persuade his saying because she was a good student. But he persuaded everyone to do it! Dewey thought everyone’s roles in the afternoon. He was serious because he loved rock music. The roles were players, chorus girls, users of amplifier, makers of their costumes, gaffers and managers. Tomika was a role of backstage, but she protested that she wanted to be a chorus girl because she liked to sing. Dewey got her to sing, and then she begun to sing a song. He was surprised because her song was very good, so he decided to associate into the girls.
Dewey told the students to listen rock music, and lent out his CDs to them, but Zack was detected listening rock music by his father. His father opposed it, and he was angry. Zack was depressed. Dewey knew that, but he didn’t tell that to Zack. The day’s class was fun for Zack because his teaching made him cheerful and refreshed. He decided to play rock music with everyone again.
One day, the band members got out of their class to take part in a band competition. There were a lot of rock bands. They were very excited, but Tomika was very nervous. She said she could not sing well because she felt as she was laughed by everyone to Dewey. He was in trouble, but he asked the reason. Tomika said she was fat. He said she didn’t need to mind because some good singers are fat. She was satisfied, and had confidence. They went to the stage, but the competition was done. Dewey approached the director, but his request was not heard. The director made a fool of the band because they were children.
Dewey asked Rosalie to have a cup of coffee, and she said yes. But the shop was like a bar. She was confused, but they drunk beer. Rock music was played in the bar. He played rock music by jukebox. It was a female singer. She liked her very much long time ago. They were good friends. They talked about education on their way home. She was strict because she was the principle, but she was strict before. She said she was funny once. She was obliged to be strict. I understood her feeling because I experienced similar thing.
Everyone cooperated to success the project each other. The band had not to be found by Rosalie and other teachers. They installed a camera to watch them on corridor. Dewey taught them how to play instruments. His passion was very hot! However a meeting with the students’ parents was coming. Rosalie worried about his class, but he said no problem. However, an event happened at the evening! Ned begun to call to the school, so Dewey was impatient, and he hang up the phone. Then Ned was made to hear that Dewey passed himself off, and worked the school from Dewey. Dewey told that and apologized to him before he went to the school for the meeting. Surely Ned was surprised.
Dewey took part in the meeting in the classroom, but he found a police officer, Ned and Patty out of the door. He was shaken by them. The officer came into the classroom and asked to come to a police office. The students’ parents demanded Dewey and the police officer. He was attacked by them. Rosalie was socked at the truth.
Next day, the students talked about him, but they thought he was a good teacher. They decided to pick him up at his house because the day had rock band competition again. Dewey was called by Freddy and Lawrence. He was surprised at them, but he didn’t stand up from his bed. They said looked out of window to him. There were the students. He suddenly stood up, and wore his clothing. The trio went to everyone. Ned and Patty were surprised at them. Patty was shocked at him, but Ned went after him to watch their competition. The students’ parents and Rosalie went to them, too. Their band’s name was School of Rock! They played the song which was written by Zack. They succeeded in playing the song! The audiences and the parents were amazed at them!! Everyone enjoyed their playing. They did their best, but they could not win. They felt down about the result, but the audiences including Ned, Rosalie and the parents called school of rock! They played again. They were great.
Dewey surely was fired from the school, but his rock class was held after school. Everyone enjoyed his class.I like the movie because it was funny. Sometimes I thought Dewey was crazy, but it was funny, too. I heard the students are real musicians, so they can play instruments really. I thought they were good players. I like their playing, but I especially like Tomika’s voice very much! She was able to sing songs very well. I regretted that I didn’t practice on the piano! I want to watch other movies of Jack Black if I have enough time.

Dewey was called by Freddy and Lawrence. He was surprised at them, but he didn’t stand up from his bed. They said looked out of window to him. There were the students. He suddenly stood up, and wore his clothing. The trio went to everyone. Ned and Patty were surprised at them. Patty was shocked at him, but Ned went after him to watch their competition. The students’ parents and Rosalie went to them, too. Their band’s name was School of Rock! They played the song which was written by Zack. They succeeded in playing the song! The audiences and the parents were amazed at them!! Everyone enjoyed their playing. They did their best, but they could not win. They felt down about the result, but the audiences including Ned, Rosalie and the parents called school of rock! They played again. They were great.
Dewey surely was fired from the school, but his rock class was held after school. Everyone enjoyed his class.I like the movie because it was funny. Sometimes I thought Dewey was crazy, but it was funny, too. I heard the students are real musicians, so they can play instruments really. I thought they were good players. I like their playing, but I especially like Tomika’s voice very much! She was able to sing songs very well. I regretted that I didn’t practice on the piano! I want to watch other movies of Jack Black if I have enough time.
